Still remaining one of my favourite Nintendo 3DS games, Luigi’s Mansion 2 secured itself the ‘Best Game on the Go 2013’ at the Canadian Videogame Awards ahead of last weekend.

The news was celebrated by developer Next Level Games on Twitter, the awards themselves marking the successes of work developed in Canada – a lofty list of 57 finalists no less.

While Ubisoft Montreal perhaps find themselves fairly overrepresented – drawing attention not only for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but also Watch_Dogs – there’s plenty of praise showered on emerging independent developers.
