Nintendo has announced plans to release a limited edition Light Blue 2DS to help celebrate Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon‘s arrival in Japan later in the year.

This won’t have either Nintendo 3DS exclusive pre-installed, but it is a particularly colourful design with fans certain to be swayed by Pikachu’s silhouette on the front and Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio‘s character silhouettes on the handheld’s rear.

Packaged in an equally attractive box, the Light Blue 2DS will release on December 8th priced at 10,584 yen (£80).

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America, Australia and New Zealand on November 18th, and in Europe on November 23rd.

  1. In Australia we’re getting the option of consoles with either Sun or Moon preinstalled on these light blue 2DS consoles. I’ve seen the offer on a few Australian retailers.
