LEVEL-5 has announced plans for a Layton’s Mystery Journey anime, that will see the riddle-solving detective Katrielle Layton continue her adventures.
The company has added that the anime will be serialised in Japanese manga magazine Ciao, and that they have partnered with TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S. to produce merchandise.
Katrielle stars in Nintendo 3DS exclusive Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy, in which she investigates cases in London with her assistant Ernest Greeves and Sherl, a dog that somehow has the ability to talk.
We enjoyed our time with the game, which you can read about more in our Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy review, writing that it “may have a new detective on it’s cover but still delivers the same experience we’ve come to know and love of the series. The puzzles may not be as strong, nor the story as satisfying, but there’s still fun to be had here for any problem solver out there looking for another chance to test their brain once more.”
