Chorus Worldwide and Maboroshi Artworks have shared a gameplay trailer for Last Time I Saw You, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.
This award-winning, fully hand-drawn narrative adventure is about a cursed love set in late 1980s Japan. You will have the chance to explore the Japanese countryside as Ayumi, a 12-year-old boy who is on the verge of becoming a teenager. In his dreams, he sees a strange girl who may be responsible for a curse on his town. Yet, he feels an inexplicable attraction toward her.
You must unravel the complicated truth as Ayumi sets out on an emotional journey of self-discovery as he marches toward adulthood – growing and changing through the trials and tribulations of first love. To do so, you will face a series of existential questions while exploring fantastical environments and socialising with local townsfolk, in a coming-of-age tale with forests crawling with helpful creatures, dangerous threats and an unrelenting typhoon.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Magic Realism in 80s Japan: Meet an eclectic cast of characters inspired by Japanese mythology, and lose yourself in a beautifully hand-drawn and traditionally animated adventure.
- Friendship and First Loves: In an adventure filled with love, friendship, and all the trials of burgeoning adolescence, you’ll meet a beguiling cast of fascinating characters along the way; from school friends and gossiping townsfolk, to samurai crows and kleptomaniac kappas – as well as the literal girl of your dreams.
- An Intriguing Adventure: Last Time I Saw You is a cozy and relaxing 2D exploration game. Light action, environmental puzzles, side quests and collectibles support its heartwarming narrative core, all dripping in nostalgia and affection for a time long gone.
Last Time I Saw You will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Autumn 2024.
