Monster Hunter 4 and Yo-kai Watch are the big winners in the Japan Game Awards 2014, having been jointly selected to receive the Grand Award.
Other titles on Nintendo platforms that saw success include Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Puzzle & Dragons Z and Super Mario 3D World, which were all commended with an Award for Excellence. While Game Freak’s Solitiba received a Special Award, with Pokémon X and Pokémon Y also clinching additional Best Sales Award and Global Award (Japanese Product).
Outside of this, Dark Souls II, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and The Last of Us also won over critics, with Grand Theft Auto V winning the Global Award (Foreign Product).
