Izneo has received a surprise release on the Nintendo eShop this week, it being a reading app that lets you access more than 30,000 digital comic books, European comics, manga, graphic novels, and Webtoons on Nintendo Switch.
The app, which is already available on PCs, smartphones and tablets, will let you browse and buy your favorite content from a growing catalog – whether on the go or at home on your TV.
With the chance to read both online and offline, you can check out comic book series like Hellboy, Aliens, Buffy, and Doctor Who, European comics series such as Blacksad, Largo Winch or Valerian, and manga like Appleseed, Sherlock and Assassin’s Creed.
You can either buy individual books or subscribe to Izneo Premium (£6.99 per month) for unlimited access to over 1,500 books from publishers such as Europe Comics, Dark Horse, IDW, Dynamite Entertainment, Archie and Lion Forge Comics.
“With the launch of our platform on the Nintendo Switch, Izneo is reaching a new phase of its development. We are offering more content in the English language than ever before for every genre of our catalog and we’re not going to stop anytime soon,” explains Izneo CEO Luc Bourcier.
“Our first goal was to make the digital comic books accessible on the go. The Nintendo Switch versatility, enjoyable either in a nomad way or connected to a TV, introduced us to a new way of enjoying our digital content on a big screen. We are happy to be part of the very few non-gaming application on the console.”
Izneo is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
