The Water-type Pokémon Finizen is a brand new addition to the Pokédex in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. You will be able to discover and catch Finizen in many areas across the Paldea region, and, as you set out to complete the region’s Pokédex, you will want to know how to evolve the Dolphin Pokémon into Palafin.
Where To Catch Finizen
Before you need to know how to evolve Finizen into Palafin, you may want to know where to catch Finizen in the wild. The Dolphin Pokémon is a regular spawn in the seas that surround the Paldea region, as you can see in the screenshot below:
How To Evolve Finizen Into Palafin
The method of evolving Finizen into Palafin isn’t particularly obvious. Finizen can evolve once it reaches Level 38, but in order to undergo evolution it must be levelled up in a local or online multiplayer session.
You can start a multiplayer session at any Pokémon Center using the Union Circle, where you can either choose to form a group or join an existing one.
Palafin appears in its Zero Form outside battle but has a unique ability called Zero To Hero, which sees it transform into its superhero-like Hero Form when it is switched out midbattle.
Where To Catch Palafin
If you aren’t necessarily bothered about evolving Finizen and simply want to add Palafin’s tome to your Pokédex, you may be looking to catch the Pokémon in the wild. Unfortunately, the Pokédex lists that the Dolphin Pokémon’s habitat is unknown, meaning that the only known route is to evolve Finizen. Luckily, now that you know what you need to do that process shouldn’t take you too long at least.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
