Hero Mode Is Mirrored In The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

As inadvertently leaked by Amazon France, a new Hero Mode has been added to The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

When you start your adventure, players are asked to name the hero and his horse before choosing whether to play in either Normal Mode or Hero Mode. Neither names or difficulty can be changed later on, but space for three quest logs lends the chance to have multiple save files.

In Hero Mode, players take double damage and no hearts will appear – meaning that they must rely on health recovery items such as Heart Containers, Red Potions and Milk. But, what was unexpected is that the more treacherous mode completely mirrors the original game’s content visually.

With the Wii U exclusive’s main quest replicating the GameCube version with improved visuals, it means that those who instead chose to embark on Link’s adventure on Wii will find themselves wandering more familiar ground – but now with heightened difficulty.

We also know that Twilight Princess HD adds Miiverse Stamps and the Cave of Shadows, but it doesn’t have Wii Remote + Nunchuk support as a product listing had suggested.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will release exclusively for Wii U in Europe and North America on March 4th, and in Japan on March 10th.
