Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have released a new Detective Pikachu trailer, which reveals new characters and gameplay footage from the Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

Whether that be a wider look at Ryme City, where people and Pokémon live together but, recently, has seen many friendly Pokémon go on a rampage for no reason. And then there’s Mewtwo, who not only seems to have the biggest connection to the mystery but knows Detective Pikachu.

We then have the chance to meet some other characters such as Pablo Millan, owner of Detective Pikachu’s favourite café; Ryme City Police Department inspector Frank Holliday; and Meiko Okamoto, who is a camera operator for the local TV studio.

When scanned in the game, the Detective Pikachu amiibo can unlock cutscenes that not are not only funny but may provide some useful hints to help you. These cutscenes can be unlocked without the amiibo, but using it will let you access them more quickly.

Detective Pikachu will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS worldwide on March 23rd.
