Disney Games has announced that its ’90s classic 16-bit side-scrolling platform adventure Gargoyles Remastered will be released on Nintendo Switch next month.
You will have the chance to journey through one thousand years of legend as Goliath, the leader of the Gargoyles. Stone by day but warriors by night, they are sworn to protect against the evil Eye of Odin and all those who desire to use its immense powers to control the world.
In your quest to smash the Eye of Odin to pieces before it destroys the world, you will be challenged to battle armies of Viking Warriors in ancient Scotland and smash menacing robots in modern-day Manhattan.
Empty Clip Studios is the developer behind this “artfully crafted revival,” which has enhanced visuals and the ability to seamlessly toggle in real-time between graphics inspired by the animated series and classic 16-bit mode true to the original game. You can also tailor your gameplay experience with features such as instant rewind, wide-screen presentation, and achievements.
“Gargoyles Remastered is the perfect dose of ‘90s nostalgia for fans of the iconic animated series and the original Gargoyles game,” explains Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Games vice president Luigi Priore. “We’re delighted to bring back a classic that holds true to the foundations of the original game while enhancing it for a new generation of players.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

Gargoyles Remastered will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 19 October 2023.
