Game Freak has released Giga Wrecker through Steam’s Early Access program, a 2D puzzle-platform action game in which you play as a cyborg girl.

The Pokémon developer restructured a few years ago, which had allowed staff the chance to work on smaller proposals to explore their potential. That resulted in Pocket Card Jockey and Tembo the Badass Elephant, although the second game remains absent on Nintendo platforms.

Giga Wrecker’s protagonist has a power called ARCHE(ARms Creating and Handling Effect), which allows her to reconstruct debris and scraps from broken objects into weapons. These have their own unique effect, and will help as you explore a world taking down an army of mysterious robots that has invaded it.

Positioned as “an innovative mixture of physics and stage exploration,” Game Freak explain their decision to release the game on Early Access: “Instead of developing the game just by ourselves, we believe that receiving feedback, suggestions and absorbing great ideas from users will increase the quality of Giga Wrecker much more. Early Access is the best way to get involved with the community, receive valuable feedback and continue our development at the same time.”

They game currently lasts under two hours, with the completed game expected to last around six hours. That will release in January 2017, if development schedules aren’t impacted too dramatically by community feedback.
