Ratalaika Games has announced that FullBlast will release on Nintendo Switch next month, a retro-style vertical shoot ’em up that sounds perfect for those who grew up playing games in the genre on arcade machines.

When an alien invasion leaves mankind on the verge of extinction, you become their last hope for survival. Taking flight in a powerful fighter, you must set out to kill alien ships and creatures in retaliation to drive them away from Earth.

The story campaign has 12 randomised levels, and, created with graphics that take inspiration from games in the 80s and 90s, you must grab power-ups to upgrade your weaponry to succeed in your mission.

With everything set against a heavy metal soundtrack, you can team up with a second player in local co-op as you work together to take down both mini bosses and mega bosses to save the world.

FullBlast will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in September.
