Fire Emblem Fates Developer Series Explores Hoshido And Nohr

Nintendo has shared a new “A Tale of Two Families” developer series for Fire Emblem Fates, that see developer Intelligent Systems share insight into how they approached creating the Nintendo 3DS exclusives.

That gathered directors Genki Yokota and Kouhei Maeda, producers Hitoshi Yamagami and Masahiro Higuchi, and character designer and illustrator Yusuke Kozaki, whose collective discussion shares what sets the kingdoms of Nohr and Hoshido apart.

That touches on the characters that are unique to each storyline, the differentiation between the architecture seen in their nation, and the way that colour and styles were used to distinctly separate them.

Their conversation also treads on the gameplay differences between Birthright and Conquest, which have already been well-documented.

Fire Emblem Fates is now available exclusively on Nintendo 3DS in Japan and North America, and sees release in Europe on May 20th.
