Electronic Arts has confirmed that FIFA 23 Legacy Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

The Legacy Editions are iterative in that they update the game with “the latest kits, clubs, and squads from some of the top leagues of the world,” but do not introduce “any new development or significant enhancements.”

However, with FIFA 23 Legacy Edition the publisher will add “top women’s club teams and some of the world’s most famous stadiums, including brand new ones, an updated visual identity and a refreshed broadcast overlay package.”

The following Game Modes will be included in FIFA 23 Legacy Edition with the same features from FIFA 22 Legacy Edition:

  • Kick Off
  • Career Mode
  • Tournaments – Licensed and Custom, including the UEFA Champions League
  • Women’s International Cup
  • Skill Games
  • Online Seasons & Friendlies
  • Local Seasons

FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will feature a select number of FUT Campaigns throughout the Season. FIFA Ultimate Team will include:

  • Manager Tasks
  • Single Player & Online Seasons, Tournaments & Draft
  • Online Single Match
  • Squad Building Challenges

And, while cross-play support will be introduced for Football Ultimate Team, this won’t include the Nintendo Switch version.

“With the addition of FUT cross-play for FIFA 23, the FUT Transfer Market will be expanded to include cross-platform functionality,” the publisher explains. “The FUT Transfer Market will now be combined within pools of platforms with the exception of PC and Switch, which will continue to have their own separate Transfer Markets.”

FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30th September 2022.
