Timeless Toucan has announced that its co-op roguelite card game Azoove is coming to Nintendo Switch.
Trekking across desert dunes in the hopes of bringing an end to a calamitous curse, your goal is to return the accursed book of Ur’gan the Fiend to its sealed chamber or face damnation.
Starting each day with a hand of numbered cards that grant you Action Points, you must choose which Opportunity cards to share and play. However, as with the tabletop games that it takes its inspiration from, you are unable to communicate with your online companion.
Action Points must be used wisely as they cannot be carried over to the next day, as you look to manage your health, resources and mental composure in response to the disasters that you may face.
The four heroes each bost unique Hero Powers that convert leftover Action Points into welcome boons: Sage’s ability can conjure rations; Oriana’s meditation can add crucial Action Points; Rin can heal the group; and Auri can reduce despair.
“Each run players face different challenges, especially as the difficulty ramps up. It is fascinating to see how plays and moments emerge when two players are vying for survival,” explains Timeless Toucan founder Daniel Milo.
“We’re eagerly awaiting the chance to observe how people respond to social situations where hard calls must be made with imperfect information – it really leads to some interesting storylines.”
Azoove will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2025.
