Koei Tecmo has introduced new details on the level up system and battle party mechanics in Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon.
Players will encounter dastardly fiends on their adventure and must rely on the close bond that they build with their companions to emerge victoriously.
Aluche, the player’s character, can use the blood of slain fiends to heighten her body’s strength, with players choosing abilities related to their preferred playstyle.
The battle party will always have Aluche, an NPC of her choices, and up to two Servans, with each team member being called upon for their own selection of skills – whether that be different fighting styles, weapons or Lily Burst, a power up that sees Aluche and her humanoid companion combine their extraordinary abilities into one devastating blow.
Her Servan allies will put their own Servan Actions to use, that can help turn the tide of battle in Aluche’s favour. The Tricker types can unleash their elemental abilities to deal critical status effects on their foes, and can change form as they evolve – growing more powerful through Reincarnation, that drastically increases their stats and allows them to access new attacks and abilities.
There is a new trailer that introduces the game’s cast, with a first look at the lively and passionate chocolatier Eleanor Ernest, and the mysterious pure-blooded demon Christophorus, who makes a return from Nights of Azure.
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon will release for Nintendo Switch in North America on October 24th, and in Europe on October 27th.
