Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy will soon puzzle the world, but LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino has explained that the developer is exploring whether the series could come to Nintendo Switch.

“I played Zelda. I love the Switch. I think it’s amazing hardware,” Hino enthused to Eurogamer. “The problem is, the Layton series does a lot with the touchscreen and pointing.

“So, the problem with the Switch is, if you play on Handheld [Mode] you can do it, but if you put it on the Dock… we’re trying to figure out how that would play into it.”

That particular challenge is something that LEVEL-5 is looking to solve, and, if they can come up with a design solution, we could soon see the true gentleman make an appearance.

Hino added: “If we can get around that and figure out a way of doing it, definitely we’re looking into putting the next Layton onto the Switch.”

  1. Hopefully they mentioned more about this on the official Layton social media pages!!! I wonder how they might optimize the game to fit with the switch since it’s not touchscreen?
