B.B. Studio is behind this JRPG, which was originally released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. You are placed in the shoes of a DigiDestined and are tasked with rebuilding the Digital World that has been put under complete chaos.
To help you in your challenge, you will be able to find and recruit more than 200 Digimon that you will have to feed, train, and form a bond with. The town of Floatia will serve as your hub, which will develop into a sprawling metropolis where you can recruit Digimon, upgrade buildings and grow crops.
“Thank you for playing Digimon games. Today, I would like to announce that we have decided to release Digimon World: Next Order on Nintendo Switch and Steam,” explains Kazumasa Habu, producer of Digimon games at Bandai Namco Entertainment.
“Currently, we have multiple Digimon game projects in the pipeline. And Digimon World: Next Order is actually handled by a new producer that joined the Digimon game team this year. I would like to have my team member give you a brief introduction to the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions of Digimon World: Next Order. Please look forward to the upcoming Digimon games!”
Takahiro Yokota adds: “As a port from the original release, Digimon World: Next Order will be released on Nintendo Switch and Steam. It is a monster-raising/training JRPG, where you can raise and train two partner Digimons at the same time, explore the Digital World with them, and battle with wild Digimons.
“What’s more, we are adding two new convenient features into the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions. One is a lower game difficulty ‘Beginner Mode,’ and the other one is ‘Running’ to help you move faster in the Digital World. [We] hope these will help both new players and players who played the original release enjoy the game better! Please look forward to Digimon World: Next Order and other upcoming Digimon games!”
Digimon World: Next Order will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 22nd February 2023.
