Demos, DLC to soon be available through Nintendo eShop

Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has today confirmed the company’s continual plans for the Nintendo eShop service, explaining that the Nintendo 3DS system update in November will bring new functionality to the online store.

Iwata explained that developers will now be able to use the Nintendo eShop service to offer post-release downloadable content, which is something that they are looking forward to utilising.

Demos are also to be available, for which developers will be able to limit the number of times that they may be played. Nintendo are hoping that this, alongside the current user review system, will help expose players to new games.

Nintendo are to also to incorporate the ability for the Nintendo 3DS to perform downloads whilst in Sleep mode, which is certainly a handy feature!
