Thunderful and Image & Form Games have announced that SteamWorld Quest: Hand Of Gilgamech will release on Nintendo Switch, a role-playing card game in which you will lead a party of heroic steambots.

With the chance to explore a hand-drawn world, turn-based battle encounters will see you use a handful of cards to topple your enemies. There are more than 100 unique punch cards, with which you can craft your own deck.

There are treasure chests filled with gold to discover, dragons to fell, magic, knights in shining armour and XP to earn, with the experience mixing a traditional fantasy setting with steampunk robots – packed with the usual humour.

“For years, the SteamWorld community has asked us to create an RPG. In fact, on multiple occasions, we’ve asked our followers what they’d like us to make next, and so far an RPG has been the number one request,” the developer explains.

“So we took it upon ourselves to create a new kind of game, to surprise and delight both fans of the genre as well as existing SteamWorld fans. We’re very excited to share our latest and possibly greatest adventure yet, and we can’t wait to hear your first impressions!”

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech will release first on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in 2019.
