Bandai Namco have revealed Charizard and Weavile as the latest playable Pokémon characters in Pokkén Tournament, sharing the fighter’s opening cinematic alongside the announcement.

Charizard is a Power character with its Burst Mode attack seeing it Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X, whereas Weavile is more Speed orientated. The weasel-like Sharp Claw Pokémon will threaten to slice foes with a sequence of icy swipes, whereas Charizard will rely on its fiery nature.

Jirachi and Whimsicott have also been confirmed as Support Pokémon, while the original Chrom Town stage has been renamed to Tellur Town.

We also now know that Pokkén Tournament will release at arcades in Japan on July 16th.
