Nicalis has announced plans to release Cave Story+ on Nintendo Switch, providing another chance for players to once again save the Mimiga.

This is positioned as the game’s “definitive version,” delivering new challenges, gameplay options and enhancements, with the developer working hard to add “more levels and additional subtle graphic improvements, future free content updates as well as a few bonuses that are yet to be revealed” on Nintendo Switch.

It is the blend of platforming action, shooting and exploration that has allowed Cave Story+ to become such a treasured title, with emotional storytelling at the game’s core. Brief conversations gradually unravel the tragic history behind the characters that you encounter, while the amnesiac adventurer has far greater athletic ability and weapon skills than his appearance would otherwise suggest.

Cave Story+ will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch at retail and on the Nintendo eShop on June 20th, priced at $29.99.
