Kepler Interactive and The Gentlebros have announced that Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean will release on Nintendo Switch next year.
You will have the chance to take on the role of a swashbuckling “purrivateer” as you search for the Northern Star – a long-lost mythical treasure – across an archipelago swarming with pesky Pi-rats.
To traverse the dangerous seas you will take to your very own ship in this 2.5D pirate-themed open world, whether adventuring alone or alongside a friend in local co-op multiplayer.
The Purribean is filled with dungeons and “paw-geous” biomes to freely explore, whether that see you fire cannonballs from your ship or master the game’s “newly refined” combat system to topple the Pi-rat hordes that scurry in every corner of the archipelago. With a new weapon-swapping mechanic, you will be able to switch between new weapons and spells on the fly to create “claw-some” attack combos.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

Explore the waters on your ship, seamlessly zip to shore, and traverse the land on paw to hunt booty in the paw-esome pirate world – the Purribean! There are treasures galore to be found, including new weapons, like the blunderpuss, furr-ocious spells, gla-meow-rous costumes, and more!
- X Marks The Spot: Embark on your very own treasure hunt and craft your own story with complete furr-eedom! Choose to explore the deepest corners of the Purribean at your leisure, or say ahoy to a quirky cast of characters and aid them in their quests along the way, in any order! The meow-steries of the Northern Star reach far and wide, and it’s up to you to investigate, gather clues and uncover the many secrets of the Purribean.
