Outright Games has teamed up with BBC Studios to bring Bluey: The Videogame to Nintendo Switch next month.

This is based on the Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning global TV show, which stars the loveable but inexhaustible Blue Heeler dog Bluey who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister Bingo. As with every kid her age, Bluey likes to play games and uses her limitless energy to play those that unfold in often unpredictable and hilarious ways.

The game features voices from the English-speaking cast of the show, including Dad, Bandit (David McCormack) and Mum, Chilli (Melanie Zanetti). You will have the chance to become immersed in Bluey’s world, with iconic locations such as Bluey’s home having been “faithfully recreated” for this interactive sandbox adventure.

With story-driven episodic gameplay, you can participate in activities that take inspiration from fan-favourite moments from the show as well as a new four-part storyline created in partnership with Artax Games, BBC Studios and the show’s producers at Ludo Studio.

Designed with flexibility in mind, you can explore at your own pace and jump between story quests and activities at any time. Up to four players will be able to play as Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad, participating in minigames such as Keepy Uppy and Magic Xylophone. There are in-game rewards to unlock like new costumes, stickers, playable episodes and locations.

“We’re incredibly excited to be working with BBC Studios as a brand-new licensing partner for Outright Games and to help expand the phenomenal world of Bluey into video games,” enthuses Outright Games chief operating officer Stephanie Malham.

“It is always our goal to create games that can act as an entry point to the world of video games and to some of the most important entertainment franchises on the planet like Bluey. It’s a thrill for us to bring Bluey’s world to life with a level of interactivity that has never been seen before and by ensuring that the game is accessible and enjoyable for all ages we know fans across the globe will be delighted.”

BBC Studios head of games Kevin Jorge adds: “We’re delighted to be working with Outright Games on Bluey’s first video game. It’s very important for us to capture the essence of fun and games that is central to the series. We know fans will be excited to explore Bluey’s world and join in with the Heeler family’s antics.”

Bluey: The Videogame will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17 November 2023.
