Many players have started to wonder whether they can create multiple islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But, it’s bad news I’m afraid.
You are limited to creating a single island per Nintendo Switch, which won’t change if you buy the game multiple times or use different user accounts.
“You can only create one island per Nintendo Switch system, even if you use multiple games. A different system is required to create a different island,” Nintendo explains.
“The island save data is saved on the Nintendo Switch system, so there will only be one island (save file), even if different games are used on the same system.”
However, with one Nintendo Switch and a single copy of the game, up to four players can live and play on the same island simultaneously. Although, this will potentially require you to buy more controllers if you don’t have enough already.
