Players and fans from around the world descended on Yokohama, Japan last weekend for the 2023 Pokémon World Championships.
After three days of intense matches and friendly competition, this year’s world champions have been crowned having competed in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE championships.
It has been confirmed that the 2024 Pokémon World Championships will be held in Honolulu, Hawai’i. Currently battling deadly wildfires, The Pokémon Company International has made an immediate monetary donation to aid ongoing relief efforts.
“Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires in Hawai’i,” explains The Pokémon Company International vice president of premier events Colin Palmer.
“Our priority is to aid children, families, and their affected communities. To support relief efforts, The Pokémon Company International is making an immediate monetary donation of $200,000 to its partners at GlobalGiving through their Hawaii Wildfire Relief Fund.”
