EDGE delivered its verdict in its review for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which has seen the UK-based magazine award the sequel with a perfect score on their 10-point scale.
The Nintendo Switch exclusive becomes the twenty-fifth game that the publication has awarded that score, which has also been awarded over the years to other Nintendo-related games like Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Galaxy, Bayonetta, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Bayonetta 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey.
In concluding their review, the magazine writes: “In reimagining Hyrule and reshuffling the tools you’ll use to explore and to save it, Nintendo may not have quite reinvented the wheel. But this kingdom provides a wondrous space in which to consider how you just might.”
The July 2023 issue also shares reviews for Darkest Dungeon II (9), Horizon: Forbidden West – Burning Shores (6), Humanity (9), Minecraft Legends (4), Mr Sun’s Hatbox (7), Planet of Lana (9), Redfall (6), Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (8), The Last Case of Benedict Fox (5) and Tron: Identity (7).
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
