Activision are delivering a Wii U version of Call of Duty: Ghosts in an effort to help Nintendo build momentum behind the console.
That’s according to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, who reveals that if the console becomes a success then it will prove just as great for their own business as well as the Japanese giant.
“The driving force behind us bringing Ghosts to the Wii U is the same as every other platform, it’s just we want to do everything we can to make the first-party successful,” Hirshberg explained to Joystiq.
He continued, “Obviously if they’re successful, that’s good for our business, that’s been our strategy in the past, we’ve been a very kind of platform agnostic company. We generally try to be wherever our gamers want to play. So we thought if our content can help the Wii U and Nintendo gain some momentum, then we wanted to do that.”
I hope that the Wii U version will be just like the other console versions by receiving DLC as it becomes available for the other consoles. I loved Black Ops II for the Wii U, but I was extremely disappointed when it never received any DLC.
