Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has been greeted by a day one patch ahead of the game’s Japanese launch tomorrow.
Updating the game to version 1.0.1, it is only necessary for those that purchase a retail copy – already pre-installed for those downloading the game through the Nintendo eShop.
Far from superficial, it enables online play while adding a new Conquest feature that will launch at 3pm JST on Monday 15th September. When playing the “With Anyone” category in online multiplayer, you may trigger a Conquest Battle from which the winner will earn points for an online conquest chart. There are only ever three characters chosen for a conquest periodically, with those that help increase the winning conquest character overall being rewarded with customisation items or in-game gold to spend.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS releases in Japan on Saturday 13th September, and in Europe and North America on October 3rd.
