In sharing their Nintendo eShop download cards for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, the company have revealed the file sizes for those wishing to purchase the Nintendo 3DS exclusives digitally.

That will see you required to have 14,395 blocks (1.8GB) worth of free space on your SD Card, which is marginally larger than Pokémon X and Pokémon Y which were 13,962 blocks (1.7GB) each.

For comparison’s sake, back in the day Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were just 16MB. Which clearly shows the jump that GameFreak’s shift to animated 3D character models and the Hoenn region, naturally brought about by the hardware advances over time.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will release in Japan, Australia and North America on November 21st, and Europe on November 28th.
