Gaming Factory and Asmodev have revealed that Mercyful Flames is in development for Nintendo Switch.
This detective adventure RPG takes inspiration from horror board games and will look to deliver “a slow-paced yet thrilling study of human meanness.”
Thanks to “a quirk of malignant fate,” you play as an occultist that somehow manages to become an inquisitor. As the wrong person in an incredibly responsible position, you will join the ranks of a bloodthirsty church from which you must see how far you’re willing to go to save your beloved one.
With “dozens” of missions to complete, you must do whatever it takes to achieve your goal whether that be investigating, bribing, fighting or even torturing your targets – something that could see you accuse whole villages of witchcraft or pacts with the devil if it is deemed necessary.
Mercyful Flames will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2021.
