With this week’s Nintendo Direct having now locked in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for a December release, Nintendo wants to encourage you to support Monolith Soft’s expansive RPG.
That has seen them produce a Collector’s Edition and Special Edition in Europe and North America respectively, that, for once, look to have identical contents. The only difference is that, in my view, the Collector’s Edition box looks far more striking with a bold red design.
It’s not all bad, though, with North America having a far snazzier Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Sound Selection CD design for some reason. The art book will be hardbound in North America but a softcover in Europe, however.

Nintendo of Europe stated in their press release: “Alongside the standard version, fans can also pick up a special edition of the game that includes a sound selection CD, a special metal game case and a 220-page hardbound art book.”
Look at the photo. That’s not a hardbound book, now is it?
“Visuals are work in progress and final product may vary.”
