Last week proved a turning point for Nintendo’s latest home console with sales rising by nearly 125 per cent, MCV reports.
Retail sources attribute the increase to new software, such as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and LEGO City Undercover, as well as HMV dramatically slashing the Wii U Premium Pack to £199.99.
Sales data reveals that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate alone achieved nearly half of the Wii U software revenue within the country that week. TT Fusion’s latest stimulated the market further, with the console’s software sales continuing to grow.
This follows retailers complaints that a price cut wasn’t enough to improve consumer interest within the console, with Nintendo needing to begin demonstrating more commitment to the platform.
