Having announced the development of ‘Project Happiness’ shortly before E3 2012, Rising Star Games have confirmed that game’s official title as being Hometown Story.

Developed by Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada and his studio Toybox, the Nintendo 3DS title promises to take players on a “joyful tale” through a “fantastic new world full of colour and fun.”

With character designs by ex-Pokémon artist Atsuko Nishida, and music written by acclaimed Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, it’s certainly promising to be a game worth keeping your eye on.

“Hometown Story is a game and a story that’s dear to my heart – and I hope will become dear to the player’s heart as well,” Toybox CEO Yasuhiro Wada explained. “Our partnership with Rising Star Games and Natsume, who share our values on a quality gaming experience, is going to remain strong as we reveal more about Hometown Story throughout the year.”

Rising Star Games’ managing director and COO, Martin Defries, added: “We are very excited to be able to announce the game’s official name and to launch a brand new global IP alongside our friends at Toybox and Natsume.

“Hometown Story will thrill and inspire our customers and it is wonderful to start a new journey with them and gain a generation of new customers through the launch of Hometown Story.”

More information regarding the game can be expected in the run up to E3 2013.

Rising Star Games will publish Hometown Story across Europe, with Natsume doing so for North America.
