There will be no Nintendo Digital Event broadcast to coincide with E3 2016, with Nintendo instead choosing to double down on The Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

Attendees and those watching online are invited to “step into a world of adventure,” with the company’s booth to be transformed into an experience that will “immerse” fans in the world of Hyrule.

Nintendo are keen to ensure that everyone can “truly experience the freedom of exploration the game offers,” and it will therefore be the only playable game at their booth where attendees can enjoy sinking their time into extended demos.

Their plans will kick-off at 5pm BST on Tuesday 14th June, when Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime will introduce Nintendo Treehouse: Live – which promises a day of live-streamed gameplay from Link’s latest adventure.

It will provide the world’s first in-depth look at the game, which is now headed to Wii U and Nintendo NX. That will involve commentaries by Nintendo developers, game coverage, behind-the-scenes information, and more.

Nintendo reinforce that The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has said that this new iteration “will be a clean break from the conventions of previous games,” removing boundaries that imposed linearity to the experience while introducing new gameplay ideas.
