Mewtwo will return as playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, it has been confirmed today.
Revealed at the close of their Super Smash Bros. for Wii U “50 Must-See Things” presentation, the genetically-engineered Legendary Pokémon is still in development and will be available in spring 2015.
This promotional period will allow those that have purchased both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions to claim him free of charge to expand the roster, whereas those that haven’t will presumably be able to purchase separately at a later date – although the company hasn’t clarified yet.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will release in North America on November 21st, and in Europe on December 5th.
