ZombiU caused quite a stir at E3 2012, and rightly so. As one of the few hardcore games unveiled for the Wii U, it struck a chord.
Here, Ubisoft are set to challenge gamers to discover how long they can survive within the dilapidated, infected streets of a post-apocalyptic present day London.
An outbreak has infected the population, destroying their humanity and turning them into zombies that mindlessly prey on the flesh of the remaining survivors. Most notable is the unique death mechanic, in which players are placed in the role of a different survivor each tim they die, allowing them to track down their previous infected character to recover their gathered equipment.
The WiiU GamePad serves as the ultimate survival kit, known as the “Bug Out Bag,” containing maps, tools, weapons and supplies that can be scavenged from the surrounding environments. ZombiU is also set to feature a multiplayer adversarial mode, in which one player assumes the role of “Zombie Master” and is tasked with spawning and controlling enemies from a top-down view whilst the second player fights for survival on the main screen.
ZombiU is expected to be available within the Wii U launch window.
