Zelda Wii U to introduce “unexpected elements”

Whilst Nintendo are hard at work developing a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, they’re also secretly beavering away on a new entry in the series for Wii U.

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has commented that the Wii U title, as with the A Link to the Past sequel, will provide plenty of “unexpected elements.”

“The new game (A Link To The Past 2) will play very differently to the original,” Aonuma explained to EDGE.

“I think the new additions will make players see the game in a different way. And, of course, we’ll introduce even more unexpected elements in the Zelda game that we’re making for Wii U.”

Whilst the game is presumably a few years away from release, Nintendo will release a high-definition remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for Wii U later this year.
