You can recover the Sword of the Hero in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a throwback to the first blade that Link was given in the original NES game.
You will first want to reach Muzasu Lightroot (Coordinates -2138, -0874, -0542) in the Depths, which, when using the surface map as a reference, is a short distance south of Satori Mountain – west of Hyrule Field.
With Muzasu Lightroot as a fast travel point, head a short distance to the southeast where you will enter Dalite Grove. You will want to be wary of the Evermean that will attack you – the trees that unexpectedly spring from the ground as you move near – as you keep an eye out for a large, open tree stump to search (Coordinates -2048, -1130, -0546).
There will be another Evermean in here to carve to pieces, but, once defeated, you will be able to open a Zonai treasure chest to recover the Sword of the Hero.
The weapon’s in-game description reads: “A sword once wielded by a hero in an ancient age. When it’s grasped, a strange sense of nostalgia washes over you. Take it when going alone would otherwise be dangerous.”
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
