The Game Critics Awards 2016 nominees have been announced, which see 40 global media outlets recognise games playable at E3 2016 “that will shape the future of interactive entertainment.”.

As Nintendo’s only playable game at E3 2016, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild held strong with three nominations in the Best of Show, Best Console Game, and Best Action/Adventure Game categories.

However it was Battlefield 1 that made the largest impression to score five nominations, with the closest competition coming from Dishonored 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn which received four nominations apiece.
