Nintendo has confirmed that it will replenish stock for The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection, promising to share news about when it will do so through the Nintendo Store app.
“The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection is currently sold out,” the company writes in a banner notification that has appeared on the Nintendo Store. “We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app.”

Pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 console (£434.99), The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and Stand (£92.99), The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition and Screen Protector (£92.99), and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake (£49.99 Digital / £58.99 Physical) were all pushed live this week.
It didn’t take long for the products to be marked as “Out of Stock,” with fans criticising the way in which the company had handled making them available to pre-order.
There was no official confirmation as to what time or date pre-orders would be opened regionally, but as word quickly spread, the estimated wait time for the Nintendo Store’s queue system regularly exceeded an hour. Worse still, once you could access the website, you were hit with constant server and application errors – whether attempting to add a product to your basket or proceeding to checkout to place your pre-order.
To no one’s surprise (but to everyone’s disappointment), many of those who were lucky enough to place a pre-order have listed their items on eBay. Having checked in the United Kingdom, there are at least 100 consoles that I can see that are listed with their pricing marked up between £100-200 on average.

It’s disgusting that people have ordered just to resell. Ebay should ban it. Real fans like myself can’t get one without being ripped off.
The sad thing is it’s against eBay’s tos to sell pre order items like that, but every time I report a listing that’s scalping these items eBay comes back with “We investigated and didn’t find this listing violated our tos.” Like what the actual f*ck? I really hope Nintendo releases plenty more and those of us who genuinely want one are able to get one.
Apparently it’s not actually against their toss as long as the scalper sells the product within 90 days of listing it and correctly identifies the release date in the product listing
What we actually need to do is contact lawmakers and have them make scalping illegal
Would it kill you to cite your sources? It’s not that I don’t believe you, but we live in a world where false information gets hyped and reposted drowning out real info and we need to reinvest in journalistic standards
I’d argue that I was fairly clear in my sourcing, in stating that Nintendo’s communication was from “a banner notification that has appeared on the Nintendo Store.” What more would you like me to add, and I will happily consider it.
A screenshot of the banner cuz I certainly don’t see it, it may be region locked.
