SEGA has announced that legendary composers Tiago “Tee” Lopes and Yuzo Koshiro have scored the soundtrack for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance.
“I can finally reveal that I am the main composer behind Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. What makes this even more special to me is that I had the opportunity to work with one of my favourite composers of all time, video game music legend Yuzo Koshiro,” Lopes shared in a video message on social media.
“We decided to take this soundtrack to new avenues, in a bold, modern sound that ties in with this brand new experience. I’d also like to share with you that I will be performing a very special DJ set I have put together, which will take you through the history of Shinobi’s music throughout the years, culminating in the revelation of a couple of brand new tracks from the new soundtrack.
“So stay tuned for that and, of course, for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, available August 29th for every system. I can’t wait to share this and a lot more with you.”
Set in a uniquely illustrated world created in collaboration with Lizardcube, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance follows longtime series protagonist and master of the ninja arts Joe Musashi, who arrives home to find his village burned to the ground and his clan turned into stone.
Driven by vengeance, he sets off on a quest in which he must battle hordes of enemies and larger-than-life bosses across stunning hand-drawn worlds with multiple paths to discover or unlock.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Journey Through a Stylistic New World: Venture through more than a dozen unique and visually striking stages, from military bases to a scorching desert, and tackle challenging platforming puzzles.
- Execute the Ninja Arts with Precision: Wield your vast ninja arsenal including the great Katana Oborozuki, Kunai, Ninjutsu arts, and Ninpo to vanquish your foes.
- Master the Way of the Shinobi: Unleash limitless combos with unique combat moves, acquire Amulets for enhanced abilities, and discover Ningi tools to overcome obstacles and uncover new paths.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 29 August 2025.
