Yuji Naka discusses Rodea the Sky Soldier’s development in video interview

NIS America have shared a video interview with Rodea the Sky Soldier creator Yuji Naka and director Zin Hasegawa.

Within the eight-minute segment the duo introduce the action game that will see players soar on an adventure through the skies. Rodea is a robot that begins to develop an understanding of human emotions by meeting Ion, which spurs him toward fulfilling a promise he made to humanity.

Naka discusses the challenges in creating a game where players can fly freely, drawing on experiences in developing SEGA Saturn’s NiGHTS into Dreams. The conversation then moves on to responding to specific questions relating to how they come up with ideas, their hopes for Rodea post-release, and what Rodea has in common with Naka’s previous games.

Rodea the Sky Soldier will release exclusively for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in North America on September 22nd, and in Europe on September 25th.
