Google has notified those that are still using the YouTube Channel on Wii, that support will soon come to an end.

Beyond 30th June 2017 users will be unable to watch YouTube on the console, as well as other devices that had used the soon-to-be-shelved YouTube Flash app.

“After 30th June 2017, the YouTube app on this device will no longer be supported, but you can still access YouTube in many other ways. A list of supported YouTube devices is available at youtube.com/tvdevices.”

Google recommends that those affected either buy a streaming stick, box or choose to upgrade to a new Smart TV or console – such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U. That is because these all use an HTML5 version of the YouTube app for TV, which has introduced multiple features that never became available in the Flash app.
