XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have announced that Gal Metal will release on Nintendo Switch for western audiences, the rhythm game from DMM Games that turns your Joy-Con into drumsticks.

When the Voyager probe’s Golden Record broadcast metal music and disturbed the otherwise peaceful universe, Earth is on the brink of invasion. Aliens couldn’t stop headbanging after hearing the music and are now dying out because of it, leaving those that remain wanting to exact their revenge.

After abducting an unnamed boy and Rinko, a drummer from a girls-only metal club, the aliens merge the two high school students into a single being to act as their emissary to deliver the terms of their revenge. The all-in-one pair must now work together with the Kichijoji Metal Girls to rid the planet of these eight-tentacled extraterrestrials using the power of metal.

That will see you use the Joy-Con to rock along with the music to create your own performances and rack up points with free-form drumlines that are based on different beats.

Each episode ends in a climactic concert with the story unfolding in text messages and animated manga panels, while, between performances, you will enjoy ordinary school life, work part-time jobs, hang out with friends, and jam in the club room.

Gal Metal will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in Autumn 2018.
