The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma, Breath of the Wild art director Satoru Takizawa and Battle of Ganon illustrator Yusuke Nakano took part in a masterclass session at Japan Expo 2017, looking back at how Link’s adventures have changed over the past 30 years.
They also took the opportunity to show early footage from The Champions’ Ballad, the first downloadable content to become available with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass.
Aonuma revealed that you will still play as Link in the DLC Pack, and will have the chance to learn more about Princess Zelda. That has partly proven to be a disappointment, with many expecting that they would either be able to play as Zelda or the four Champions: Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa.
However, the footage has revealed that The Champions’ Ballad will be set after Ganon’s defeat, picking up after the scene witnessed in the game’s secret ending.
He also shared that Toon Link’s lobster shirt from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will make a comeback, presumably to be discovered hidden in a Treasure Chest in Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 2 – The Champions’ Ballad will release for Nintendo Switch and Wii U in Holiday 2017.
