Yoshi’s Crafted World Hides Super Mario RPG And Mario Kart Easter Eggs

Nintendo dropped a free Yoshi’s Crafted World demo on the Nintendo eShop last week, and in the time since many have started to explore the Nintendo Switch exclusive’s diorama-like world.

While hurling eggs at enemies in the demo’s stages, GameXplain has spotted two easily missed references to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Mario Kart Wii.

For Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, that is a discarded box of Yo’ster Cookies – a reference to Yo’ster Isle. And then for Mario Kart Wii, there is an empty Moo Moo Meadows Milk carton – a nod to the Moo Moo Meadows track that made a return in Mario Kart 8 (and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe).

In Yoshi’s Crafted World, you will have the chance to explore a big world that’s crafted from household items like boxes and paper cups, solving puzzles and discovering hidden treasures in the game’s themed stages.

That can see you rafting, racing solar cars, tearing through the sky on a plane, or experiencing many other wild and surprising gameplay sequences.

These stages can also be flipped, letting you play them backward to provide new perspectives and the chance to find Poochy-Pups that are hiding around the course. And, of course, there’s the chance to team up with a friend in two-player co-op.

Yoshi’s Crafted World will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 29th.
