In a mystifying announcement, Nintendo of Europe have announced that Yoshi’s Cookie will soon become unavailable to purchase through the Wii Shop Channel.
Set to be pulled on October 11th, those that have purchased will still be able to re-download the SNES tile-matching puzzler, which sees players rearranging five cookie types around a rectangular grid to match rows or columns.
Yet the real puzzle here is why Nintendo are pulling their own first-party release from the service. Whilst we may never find out, hopefully it’ll at least make a return on Wii U.

If Nintendo plans on pulling its very own original games from the Wii Shop Channel, it very well belongs on the Wii U eShop.
