Nintendo of America has announced that Yo-kai Watch will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on November 6th.
The cultural phenomenon has already struck success in Japan, and Nintendo has teamed up with Disney XD, Hasbro and VIZ Media to bring the brand westward.
The Nintendo 3DS exclusive is only one piece of the puzzle, with Viz Media’s Perfect Square Imprint to launch the manga on a bi-monthly basis starting from November 3rd. Disney XD will closely follow this by starting to air the animated comedy series this fall, whereas Hasbro will introduce toys and games centred around collectible medals in January.
“When we first started exploring concepts for the Yo-kai Watch universe, we immersed ourselves in learning about situations confronting kids in their everyday lives,” comments LEVEL-5 president Akihiro Hino.
“This world – a child’s complicated, scary, confusing, exiting and very funny world – is the foundation of our IP, and the Nintendo game really captures this essence, along with the colourful and often amusing Yo-kai behind it all!”
Yo-kai Watch will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America on November 6th, and in Europe and Australia in 2016.
