Shifting players into the role of explosive trickster Plague Knight, Yacht Club Games have revealed Plague of Shadows as a free expansion to their award-winning Shovel Knight.
On a quest to overthrow the Order of No Quarter, Plague Knight must concoct the ultimate potion Serum Supernus which must be extracted from the corpses of his former allies. The indie developer promises “an explosive quest” with a new play style, where players will use explosives, bomb jumps and alchemy to blast their way throughout the expansion.
Recipes and reagents can be gathered, with Plague of Shadows sporting a new Alchemy System that will allow you to craft equipment and power-ups.
There will be a playable demo at PAX East where you can find the crew at booth #6224, with the expansion set to launch on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in Q2 2015.
